Rina Jakubowicz is known for her vibrant and uplifting approach to yoga. She is an international bilingual yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, motivational speaker, author, and TV show host. She has been a teacher of teachers for over eleven years, presenting at Kripalu Center, Himalayan Institute, Omega Institute, as well as in countries across the globe such as Chile, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Andorra. Rina is a Gaiam TV featured teacher, the yoga expert on Univision’s Tu Desayuno Alegre, and a regular contributor for Yoga Journal Online and MindBodyGreen.
Avoiding injuries requires proper assessment of your body, your nature, and your capacity in a certain moment.
Then you have to leave your ego aside and take the proper action for yourself.
I tend to listen to classical music on my headphones before I go to sleep.
I also repeat to myself “I am sleeping. I am sleeping,” until I fall asleep.

This helped me understand simply how the harmful thoughts in my mind had so much power and I wasn’t going to let them happen.

I love how clever it is and it makes me think and laugh. It’s written so well and explains the process to the self and of yoga in a modern yet creative approach. It’s brilliant!
That there are no secrets. It just takes effort, discipline and following through on what you know is best for you.
The reason people don’t do this is because it’s often so much work and requires responsibility for your actions.
I start my day studying yoga philosophy.
It helps me because it sets the tone for the rest of the day.
I have a higher ideal in mind as I relate to the world and make sure that I’m acting from the right place.
I was truly challenged when I was going through my divorce.
I told myself and my ex-husband I wouldn’t let the divorce be in vain and I would make sure that I would work on myself and help myself heal and evolve and ultimately find myself again.
Out of that challenge came the birth of my book, Choose Peace: A Practical Guide into Consciousness. In publishing, I kept my promise to him and myself.

Every time I get sick, I repeat the mantra “I am healthy – I am happy” over and over again.
It’s so easy to become mentally miserable and repeat “I’m sick” instead. So I play tricks on my body and make it listen to my mind.
And even if I don’t get physically healthy right away at least I am making myself feel better because of this thought.
The best advice I’ve ever received in yoga was to start doing yoga.
If it wasn’t for that first yoga class I took, I don’t know where I would be today.
I’m so grateful for all the elements that lined up for me to get to where I am now.
Although I still have a journey ahead of me.

Add some variety to your music!
I change up my music and sometimes play my happy playlist which has reggae, Disney tunes, Rocky Horror Picture Show songs, etc.
I choose to be able to access my entire brain.
It is said we only use a small percentage of our brain so if I were able to access all of it, the possibilities are limitless. Then I could most likely attain all the other super powers.
