Along with tight hips, chronically tight hamstrings are another main contributor to lower back pain. It’s crucial to keep these muscles flexible and open, especially when we perform physical activities that require advanced use of the hamstrings, such as cycling, running, or weight-lifting. Actively engaging the hamstrings without properly stretching can result in pain and discomfort, and, in severe cases, even injury.
Keeping our hamstrings loose by stretching them efficiently and intelligently can help to create a sense of balance and length in the legs.
