Kerri Kelly Disrupts the Divine
What do you do when the shit hits the fan? There are infinite ways to respond, but as Kerri Kelly describes in this powerful Speakeasy lecture from Wanderlust Whistler, "Disruptions and disappointments are part of the human experience, but how we show up in the moment of chaos and disruption really inform where we go, how we grow and who we become."
The Executive Direction of Off The Mat, Into the World says, "I've been blessed with having really big loud enormous disruptions in my life, huge wake up calls. And I think it was because I wasn't available to get the messages along the way. I was too distracted, too self-centered, too attached to my agenda of who I wanted to be in the world."
You may not have seen some of the darker times of your life as blessings, but in hearing Kerri Kelly speak bravely about how her life was turned upside down on 9/11 with the loss of her step-Dad, a NYC firefighter, you may come to re-evaluate those experiences you thought were tragic and be able to see some of your own struggles as opportunities for reboot, reinvention, and recalibration.
In this talk, Kerri shares:
- How being a perfectionist and an over-achiever can be a sign of inadequacy and can insulate you to your own sensitivity,
- How the surrender into feeling emotions we don't ordinarily want to feel can become a catalyst for change,
- How yoga can become a tool for healing, and help navigate you through the chaos of disruption.
