Up the Hill Yoga
Judy (Rivera) Harrigan has been practicing Yoga since 2005 with various teachers from different traditions throughout New York City and Vermont. Her yoga foundation is inspired by B.K.S Iyengar. She loves teaching an energized class with breath and movement while weaving in meditation and deep yoga relaxation. Judy’s passion is to help students find the correct alignment, flexibility and ease in their Asana practice. Yoga has been very instrumental in guiding her through life’s difficulties and has brought her good health and understanding of her true self. She believes that the work we do on our mats helps us with our inward journey and opening ourselves to the entire mysterious processes of the universe.
By opening Up the Hill Yoga in West Townshend, Judy enjoys sharing her yoga practice with her community. The newly renovated studio offers a serene, clean and warm space heated by wood stove for students of all levels. The space was created with community in mind so anyone can participate in and explore the benefits of yoga and meditation, a place where they can strengthen, heal and find peace surrounded by the natural beauty of Southern Vermont. Up the Hill Yoga offers a variety of classes including Vinyasa, Gentle and Restorative along with a variety of educational workshops and the extremely popular Latin Dance classes/party.
Judy has also had the honor of spending time with Baba Harihar Ramji (Babaji) from the Aghor ancient lineage and the Venerable Thupten Phuntsok through his beautiful guided Buddhist meditation. In her spare time, she volunteers in the community and loves hiking in the forest. Judy was born in Manhattan and raised in the South Bronx.
