Nik’s style is eclectic & modern with traditional roots, blending influences from Yin Yoga, Hatha Vinyasa, Budokon, Vipassana Meditation & Thai Yoga Massage to create a unique, holistic approach.

Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, an injury playing elite level football for his national team and top colleges in the United States led him to yoga and meditation. This blessing in disguise began a journey of healing and self realisation.

After an initial training with Noah Maze known for his advanced asana practice & clarity of communication, Nik went on to study Budokon with Cameron Shayne, a unique blend of Martial Arts, Primal movement & Yoga.  This led to Insight Yoga studies with Sarah Powers (Yin Yoga with a focus on mindfulness, yoga Buddhism and psychology), traditional Thai Yoga Massage at Loi Kroh School in Chiang Mai, and Goenka-style Vipassana Meditation retreats.

Over the past few years Nik has taught extensively around New Zealand and Sri Lanka, offering daily classes, workshops and immersions into his specific yin yoga courses, including a continuous 12-hour Yin Space flow.

His latest program, entitled Conscious Athletics, is a system of yoga designed for athletes to enhance performance, improve recovery and raise consciousness. This program combines the wisdom of ancient traditions, modern science and sport psychology.

Yin yoga is a slow, simple and introspective practice which opens the deeper connective tissues of the body. His key teachings are contained in a 6 part workshop series called Create Space which lays the foundations of yin yoga and delves into the subtler aspects of the practice.

Hatha Vinyasa is a stronger practice which incorporates fluid movement with the breath, balanced with stillness and alignment.
