Jindabyne Yoga Shala

Official Website

Jindabyne Yoga Shala was opened in July 2014 by Jane Corben, after completing her Level 1 training with Power Living, Australia’s largest teacher training school. Her journey began in 1978, at the age of 18, in an ashram in India. Thirty-five years of practice later, after a few different lives and extensive global yoga travel exploring studios, retreats & workshops her path has led to service to others.

Synchronicity was in play, as the same time the desire to serve the community arose the 50 year old Country Women’s Association Hall in Jindabyne was looking for a new owner. There was now the perfect space with the perfect energy, overlooking Lake Jindabyne, to share her knowledge and wisdom.

Moving to Jindabyne as a single mother with 3 boys in 2000, being self-employed her whole life, running a variety of businesses and becoming a grandmother the same week as she taught her first yoga class have proved to Jane that to keep growing, evolving, exploring and challenging ourselves and the norms is the path.

She now sees this calling to share with her local community, the opportunity to lead a more connected, vital, healthier and aware life and to help others find the freedom in mind, body and spirit that yoga can offer as a gift.
All this has now culminated into a contemporary unique style of yoga based on intelligent sequencing coupled with gratitude for our breath, mindful movement and smatterings of inspiring philosophies.

The studio aims to offer a variety of classes, styles and teachers so everyone can explore and discover their own path. All classes have a strong focus on mindfulness aiming to challenge our conditioned ways of perceiving the world, ourselves and the physical patterns rooted in our bodies. All classes will leave you feeling invigorated, contented & receptive to new possibilities in your life, both on & off the mat.
