“We are complex multi-dimensional begins, we are powerful creators. We create a reality about what we believe, think and feel about ourselves and the world.” – Madhuri Phillips
In this talk from Wanderlust’s Speakeasy, Madhuri Phillips discusses the power of mindfulness and teaches us how rewiring our brains can change our lives into more positive and loving experiences.
For thousands of years, yogis have understood the power of the mind and body connection. We’ve seen how thoughts and feeling actively influence both our physical and mental health. Now with the advances of neuroscience to back it up, what was once just an idea has shifted into the arena of modern medicine. In this lecture, Madhuri uses her experiences, both light and dark, to show how we can use yoga to overcome our inherent ‘negativity bias.’ After an exceptionally traumatic life experience, Madhuri relied on this techniques to pull her back into the light of positivity and away from the edge of death.
“When we create a thought, it initiates a neurochemical reaction that triggers associated feelings that move through the body.”
As a yoga teacher, aryuvedic practitioner, and bio-energy healer Madhuri has been honored to offer her teachings at the: Toronto, Victoria, & Vancouver Yoga Conferences, National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA), Wanderlust, Bellyfit Summit, Vancouver Yogathon, My Yoga Online, as well as a guest in many teacher training programs. She is a head faculty member of the Langara College Yoga Teacher Training Program and sees clients for Ayurveda & Bio-Energy in Vancouver. She has shared her knowledge and wisdom with students across North America, England, India, and Mexico for more than 15 years. Along with her popular Ayurvedic Yoga DVD, she recently co-authored Your Irresistible Life: 4 Seasons of Self-Care Through Ayurveda & Yoga Practices that Work.
“We have the power to change our thoughts, feelings and beliefs—this is self mastery.”
