If you’re coming up to the festival on Thursday or if you’re just looking for an off-campus getaway, check out the Hale’iwa Farmers’ market (haleiwafarmersmarket.com). It’s 10 miles west of Turtle Bay right off Kamehameha Highway. It runs from 3pm to 7pm every Thursday. Turtle Bay is awesome, but I highly suggest having some fresh fruit and snacks kicking around. And you can stock up with tons of local yummy-ness at the market.
I’ve been to a lot of farmers’ market never one in such a bucolic setting.
This dude had me at … Aloha.
Don’t think about stealing anything. Mr. Rooster has got his eye on you.
Local goodness…
A sweet hang spot.
An interloper.
Just a general note, Hawai’i is not cheap – especially the north shore. There are 2 prices for virtually anything: the tourist price & the local price (kama’aina which means “child of the land”). Also known as the bro deal.
Thanks and come back soon!
