Move Over Matcha: Protein-Topped Donuts Are Where It’s At

With traditionally healthy toppings like nuts—to less obviously healthy ones like bacon—protein-topped donuts just may be the new wellness trend.

Pistachios, bacon, almonds, oh my! From gourmet donut shops to small artisan counters, donuts are having a moment.

Unfortunately, no matter how you top them, they just don’t have the kind of nutritional value that matcha (let alone kale!) does.
