Kimberly Depasquale

A native Floridian, Kimberly Depasquale learned young to appreciate the beauty of nature, being drawn early to the all the ocean had to offer: sailing, swimming, snorkeling and surfing. The ocean was, and still is, her playground. As comfortable on land as she is on sea, Kim excels at helping others to feel that same comfort on the water, opening a whole new world to many.

A longtime yoga practitioner, Kim found a way to blend her love of yoga and water when she found the stability paddleboards offered……the board essentially became her floating yoga mat. She feels the only thing better than experiencing it herself, it the ability to share with others, especially those new to activities on the water.

Kim emphasizes that Yoga on Water (YOW) is not about the poses, thereby encouraging those that may be hesitant to just give it a try. YOW is about connecting to nature, the elements, each other and oneself. She gently guides students in relaxation and unplugging from the noise in the environment and day-to-day stresses. Yoga on Water puts the ego in check, having the student focus within and be more conscious of their alignment. In addition, many students have found that Yoga on Water has improved their land based practice.

Kim hosts numerous classes at Blueline Surf and Paddle where her title is Fun Facilitator. Using her years of experience and natural teaching abilities, Kim is currently working on offering certification classes for those who desire to be Yoga on Water instructors, ensuring they learn correct paddling techniques and water safety. Kim’s passion lies not only with sharing yoga and paddle boarding, but extending that to the community and bringing everyone together to share in the healing properties of the element of water. She is extremely active with Special Olympics (teaching them paddle boarding and SUP racing) in addition to working with Surfers for Autism and a lululemon ambassador.

In a never ending quest for learning, Kim recently traveled to Rishikesh, India where she co-hosted a yoga retreat with Tracey O’Hara for sixteen days at Anand’s Sattva Center. During this trip she was able to whitewater raft down the Sacred Ganga.
