Municipalities always require a hand washing station (normally cold water is sufficient), and often require thermometers, warewashing sinks and/or food handlers certification depending on the complexity of your production. Please always remember to print and bring any required documents to site.

Any brand sampling or selling food or beverages must complete the following:

There is no application available online, as it must be completed in person at the Consumer Health Division

PLEASE NOTE THESE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN YOUR PERMIT:

An interview is needed to obtain a Temporary Event Food Service Permit. You will need to know all menu items, equipment to be used, dates, hours of food service operation and addresses of events. The interview and application will cover food source, preparation, handling, transportation and temperature requirements. Additionally, booth structure, hand wash station, hand washing, bare hand control of ready-to-eat foods, sanitation, warewashing and waste water disposal will be discussed. You must demonstrate adequate knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices in order for a permit to be issued.
Applications for, and issuance of Temporary Food Service Establishment Permits may be obtained at the address and during the schedule listed below.
Applications must be received in this office at least five (5) working days prior to the event. All three (3) pages of the application must be submitted for approval.
A non-refundable fee of $121 plus $13 per day for each temporary food establishment must be paid when the application is submitted. Vendors that will offer only prepackaged foods from the manufacturer that are non-time and temperature controlled and with minimum handling and preparation may request a limited service food permit.

Limited service food permits require a nonrefundable permit fee of $74, plus $13 for each day of operation for each facility from which the establishment is operated.

You must present a valid photo ID, sales tax permit, application fee , menu, list of where the food is coming from, any relevant permits associated with origins of food.

NOTE: The Consumer Health Division states that you must go in in person at least 2 days prior to the event. If this is not possible, you must contact the Dallas Health Department via phone (see below):

Note:

if you are doing ONLY pre-packaged sampling, that is managed through the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, NOT the Health Department. You will need to contact the Dept of Ag directly for details on how to permit (if necessary, depending on your product) 651-201-6027

For those not doing pre-package sampling only:

Review this application including the list of Potentially Hazardous vs. Limited Non-Potentially Hazardous foods to determine your requirements. It helps to be familiar with the guidelines BEFORE calling the Department of Health.

You must call our representative at the Minnesota Department of Health to obtain your permit. Her name is Holly and she is quite easy and informative to talk with. holly.batchelor@state.mn.us // p 651-201-3777

The application is partially filled out and signed by Holly upon you speaking with her. She then sends it to you via email for completion. Once you complete the application she sends to you, then you need to send it to Bethany at Bethany@wanderlust.com. Bethany will then submit all permit applications and payments to Holly.

Some special notes for Minneapolis:

Potentially hazardous foods must be stored under mechanical refrigeration and not on ice. If you would like to hold some of these foods on ice at the point of sale for a short period of time that is approved. However, this food must never be submerged in the ice and leftovers must be discarded. We can talk more about this if needed.
You must have overhead protection and some type of ground cover. Tarps, plywood, etx are approved and this should be placed in food prep areas, service areas, and the customer area directly in front of point of service.
Liquid wastes, including ice, may not be disposed of in sewers or on the ground. Dispose of liquids in a sanitary sewer
You will need a license for each tent preparing or serving food

Food equipment & utensils shall be fully washed, rinsed, sanitized every 4 hours
At a minimum a gravity hand wash station must be set up at each service and food prep area

SELLER’S PERMIT

All sponsors who are selling in California will need to obtain a California seller’s permit from the Board of Equalization by Thursday, June 21, 2018.

If you are out of state or don’t already have a permit, you can find the application by going to this website and selecting “REGISTER A BUSINESS ACTIVITY WITH CDTFA”.

There is no cost to apply, but you will need to submit your sales and pay the appropriate sales tax at the conclusion of the event. If you are exempt from paying sales tax, you must complete this form.

Any out-of-state retailer coming into California must obtain a Seller’s permit. Permits or licenses from other states do not qualify.

Applications must be submitted 4 weeks prior to the event on Thursday, June 21, 2018 to allow time for corrections if needed.

Vendors must submit applications directly to Placer County (information below). After your application is approved, please provide Wanderlust with your Authorized Health Permit and Permit Number by emailing it to Bethany (Bethany@wanderlust.com)

All sponsors handling food, beverages, or water will need to obtain a permit. This applies to any sponsor sampling, selling, or distributing consumables of any kind.

A NOTE ON SAMPLING IN CA
The Placer County Environmental Health Department wants to ensure that anyone handling food is using best practices. Either food should be kept in closed containers, more than 3 feet from the front of the booth, or a sneeze guard OR protective covering (cake dome or similar) should be over samples that are in front of guests.

ANY cutting, removing samples from packages, or otherwise exposing and handling food MUST take place in a space completely enclosed either in solid walls OR mesh walls. Either this can be a separate space in the back of your booth OR you can secure a mesh wall with service windows to the front of your booth and utilize your entire space.

ALCOHOL PARTNERS pouring samples – MUST complete the same Placer County application, but will not be assessed a fee.

WILDLIFE ADVISORY
Squaw Valley is home to lots of wildlife from raccoons and squirrels to bears and mountain lions. To ensure the safety of your staff, our attendees, and all wildlife please be sure to follow these guidelines:
Remove all food from your tent overnight and store it in an area that can be fully secured
Any food that must be kept within your space should remain in a bear proof (air tight) container
All trash should be removed from the space overnight (a member of the Wanderlust Greening team will be able to assist with this)
