FOOD & BEVERAGE PERMITTING
All Temporary Food Establishment Vendors & personnel must abide by this agreement:
- Vendors and Sponsors who are only sampling are not required to apply for a permit. Any food that is sampled or given away for free is not regulated by the Charlotte Health Department and does not require a permit.
- Non-hazardous foods (shelf-stable foods) do not require a permit. Hazardous foods are considered any animal product or leafy green – anything that must be kept at a certain temperature. Bottled and pre-packaged foods, if just served as they are – not mixed with anything else to produce a final product – do not require a permit, but all manufacturers instructions on handling the product must be followed.
- Coffee and beverages are exempt from requiring a Temporary Food Event Permit as long as the beverage is being made by an approved water source. If you are using water to prepare your beverage, you must use bottled water (Deer Park, Crystal Springs, etc.) or talk to Camren asap – email camren@wanderlust.com or call 720.982.4315
- There can be no advance preparation (off site preparation) of food being served on site.
If you are cooking or preparing food on site, you will need to apply for a Temporary Food Event Vendor Application. You must fill this out and send to Camren at camren@wanderlust.com by March 10.
