Zoe Zephyr

About

Zoe is an ex PhD Academic, a Buddhist, a Gallery Director & Sculptor, who became an AntiGravity Aerial Fitness Teacher, Yogi, and proud mumma! Her life in the arts brings a unique flavour to Aerial Yoga, having many students following her and maintaining a regular and committed practice because of her style, creativity, ethos, and vibe.

From a young age Zoe lived amongst Tibetan Buddhism, and has been fortunate to receive direct transmission and teachings from some of the most senior teachers of several lineages, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama; this is something that permeates her personally and that she takes directly into her own teaching. She came to yoga through dance in her teenage years, continuing her yoga practice through university and the completion of her PhD in 2008.

Zoe has been mentored in the APMA (Pilates) technique while managing MLPStudio in the Adelaide CBD. In 2011 Zoe completed the inaugural Australian teacher training in AntiGravity® Fitness with its founder and inventor, Christopher Harrison. Zoe was the first fully qualified Aerial Yoga instructor in Adelaide (2011) and also one of the only original Yin Yoga teachers (2014) before the modality was taught widely in South Australia. In the spirit of community and wellbeing, Zoe has been an active ambassador for key events in South Australia that promote yoga. These include Nourish festival, Lululemon In-store yoga events and facilitation, and Adelaide’s internationally acclaimed WOMADelaide, to name a few. Zoe is a founder of The Yoga Centre; she lives in a treehouse with her family and several wayward animals.
