Whitney Allen is a former Broadway singer turned yoga instructor who has been teaching full time in Los Angeles since 2002. She has been practicing since 1996, when she was living in New York– a yogi by day practicing at Kula and Jivamukti, and a singer by night, working steadily on and off Broadway and in national tours.
In 2002, Whitney left NYC and her Broadway career and moved to LA to teach yoga. She completed a teacher training under the eye of Lisa Walford, and started teaching at YogaWorks Center for Yoga. Whitney now combines her passions for music and yoga as the Music Supervisor for Wanderlust Hollywood in LA. As a founding senior teacher there, she teaches classes at the center daily. Whitney is also a contributing teacher for Wanderlust’s 200-hour Voyager Teacher Training, and leads a module on the use of music to enhance teaching and sequencing.
LA Yoga magazine featured Whitney in their Winter 2016 issue, saying her classes bring “An ease in which she communicates the flow of postures with a killer soundtrack that effortlessly matches the flow of her words and pacing of her class.”
Whitney is a lover of staying in, drinking coffee, swimming in lakes, biking to beaches, and going everywhere with her little deaf dog Bowie.
