The co-founder and CEO of Mana Artisan Botanics, Steve Sakala, has been a voice for sustainability, regenerative agriculture and medicinal cannabis for more than two decades. Educated on the numerous benefits of the cannabis plant at an early age, he quickly became passionate about its thousands of uses. Working as a diversified sustainable farmer for the last 18 years has imbued Steve with the spirit of entrepreneurship and the very nature of Hawaii has helped build the resilience needed to be a successful. Steve, along with his partner Melinda, is the owner of Honaunau Farm Wellness Retreat, a 7.5 acre permaculture education farm. He is also co-founder of Wholistic Research and Education Foundation, a California based nonprofit dedicated to exploring the health benefits of CBD-rich therapeutics through funding medical and clinical research. One of Steve’s other companies was also contracted by Hawaii Department of Agriculture to grow Hawaii’s first hemp crop. Steve’s hope is inspire wellness and sustainability through education and action.
