New Residence is a project of three friends who have played in many bands together over the years, who wanted to see what they would get when they stripped everything down to just a saxophone, a Rhodes, and a voice. Add in a guitar here and there and guest sit-ins from a few other musician friends, and you get a mellow, wholesome sound, albeit energetic and big at times. They play soulful, unique interpretations of old and new songs, and present several originals written on their way to finding their sound.
