Heather Booth

About

Heather first learned the art of trapeze and aerial dance in 1997 in New Orleans, and she’s had a hard time walking on the ground ever since! Heather is founder of Miraas Aerial, a Denver-based aerial studio, where she spent five years as Creative Director and Lead Instructor, teaching aerial silk/fabric, static trapeze, lyra, and aerial yoga to adults and children. She is currently an aerial trainer at Still and Moving Center in Honolulu and a member of the Apo Mahina aerial troupe. An advocate of social circus, Heather has worked as an aerial trainer in Israel, Palestine, and Thailand, teaching trust and peace through circus skills. Also a professor of culture and human rights, Heather believes that circus arts and movement can help to heal communities and people in conflict. Heather’s aerial trainers have included: Julio Batista de Souza of Cirque du Soleil, Alexandra Walker of the Slavic Sisters; Carrie Heller of the Circus Arts Institute; Lisa Natoli of Lisa’s Bright Ideas, and Josh McGirk of Aeriality, where she received Aerial Yoga teacher training. Heather has been performing and teaching aerial for 16 years and has loved every minute of seeing students become stronger and more confident aerialists with every training session. She is thrilled to join Wanderlust this year!
