Gadadhara Pandit Dasa: A Splinter in the Mind

Gadadhara Pandit Dasa interprets passages from the Bhagavad Gita and explains how our purpose in life can be found from understanding of ourselves.

“If we don’t know who we are, how can we determine what to do with ourselves, our purpose?” – Gadadhara Pandit Dasa

In this speakeasy talk from Wanderlust Stratton 2014, Gadadhara Pandit Dasa interprets passages from the Bhagavad Gita and explains how our purpose in life and path to enlightenment can only be found from truly understanding ourselves.

Gadadhara Pandit Dasa is a teacher, explorer, lecturer, coach, and author of Urban Monk: Exploring Karma, Consciousness and the Divine. He has spoken in various countries across the world and inspired thousands who have embraced his message. As someone with a wide view of the world, he understands the disparity between the classes and how hardship and stress affect the human body. Growing up wealthy, Pandit was accustomed to a multi-million dollar lifestyle. Yet after a sudden change in fortune, he and his family found themselves nearly penniless.

“Usually when spiritual knowledge comes to us, and we are going through some challenge, it is a blessing in disguise—it is then that we become humble enough to receive.” – Gadadhara Pandit Dasa

For Pandit, this change came with a new realization and a better understanding of the world. It both grounded him and set him on a new path. He began studying Eastern medicine and found himself drawn to helping others manage their stress. Meditation and a yoga practice helped his students nourish their minds and bodies, while studying spiritual texts such as the Bhagavad Gita readied them for creating solutions to challenges in their lives. Pandit now seeks to guide his students on the path to enlightenment and hopes his message will bring them closer to their goal.

This lecture also covers the three principles of Pandits teaching:

  • How to develop a loving relationship with the Divine
  • How realize that we are more than just a body, that we are spirit
  • How to transcend the circle of life and death towards enlightenment
