ARRIVAL + CHECK-IN

Please arrive the day before your first teaching engagement. If you plan to arrive after 8 PM, please email Katie with your arrival information. Please anticipate traffic and allow time to get in and out of the venue. Teachers must check in at the Wanderlust Happy Place. A programming representative will be stationed here with your credentials and able to answer your questions.

THE HAPPY PLACE | Presenter + Press Lounge (Formerly the “PRESENTER SHALA”)

Check in for speakers and assistants will take place in The Happy Place. Speakers and assistants must each pick up their own credentials. No wristbands will be handed out without the recipient present. Presenters are required to wear their wristband for the duration of the event, we will not replace any lost credentials.

The Happy Place hours are:

Wednesday: 1 PM – 4 PM

Thursday – Saturday: 7 AM – 9 PM

Sunday: 7 AM – 3 PM

Outside of these hours, please email Katie with any questions.

GUEST PASSES

Each Speaker will receive a 25% discount off of up to two (2) guest passes.  Please contact Katie for more information.

SPEAKING SCHEDULE

Please arrive at the Speakeasy venue no later than 30 minutes before your lecture to get set up with a mic and go over final details.

CATERING/MEALS

As a Speaker, you will receive one meal per speaking day, which equates to $25. For all events, except the Whistler event, you will be able to pick up your meal buyout from a WL accountant in the production office.  For the Whistler event, meals are provided in the form of catering, during set times during the day. Whistler presenters will be issued meal tickets upon arrival on site.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Wanderlust is not responsible for transporting artists.  We have a partnership with National Rental car if you would like to rent a car. If you would like other car service options, please connect with Katie for more details.

INTERNET + MOBILE SERVICE

Internet is available in the village, but the signal may be weak so please bring your own hotspot if you require streaming, etc. Depending on your carrier and phone, cell phone usage on the festival grounds may be possible.  However, we will not be providing any extra service towers.   Like all large festivals, points of limited access may occur if towers reach maximum bandwidth.  At the speakeasy, please let Katie know if you will be streaming at online content for your presentation.

LODGING

If you are being provided with festival lodging, accommodations have been arranged.  You will receive a confirmation letter from Maggie at Lodging@wanderlust.com 10 days prior to the event with your lodging details. If you have not received this 10 days out from the festival and believe you should have, please contact Katie to confirm.

Hotel accommodations shall begin on the day prior to Presenter’s first teaching engagement and shall conclude 3 days following the initial nights stay (unless other arrangements have been specifically made).  Please refer to forthcoming lodging confirmation email for specific information about the property at which you will be staying.

You will most likely be in a shared 2, 3, or 4-bedroom condo with other presenters. Most have kitchens, but check with the property to be sure if that’s important to you. Unless negotiated in your contract, assistants and guests are not permitted in your festival lodging. If there is another Presenter you would prefer to room with, please let us know as soon as possible.

Please be advised that we cannot make any lodging changes on site, and all accommodations are final.

ASSISTANTS

We do not provide meals, lodging, or travel for assistants. If you are unsure whether your assistants are receiving meals, please email Katie before the event. No exceptions will be made on site.

BOOK POLICY / MERCH

If you are interested in selling your books or other merchandise at Wanderlust, you will have two opportunities to do so.

1) You may sell your books directly after your Speakeasy or FYTF presentation in The Speakeasy Venue / FYTF tent, and you will take 100% of the proceeds.

2) Wanderlust will buy your book at Wholesale and manage sales and receive revenue.  Books will be reported to the NYT bestseller list.

MULTIMEDIA

All multimedia that pertains to your talk must be submitted to Katie Knoche no later than 2 weeks prior to the festival. This is not available for FYTF food demos.

PARKING

There is ample parking located on site just steps from the main festival site.

SETTLEMENT

Checks will be available for pick up on site. You may pick up your check from Lisa Carriuolo in the Production Office after you’ve finished presenting. Lisa will be available in the production office during the hours listed below. If you have not sent us a 2017 W9 form, please do so before you arrive on-site so that you may be paid on time.

Lisa Carriuolo’s Production Office Hours: Wednesday – Sunday from 12 PM – 6 PM.

SHIPPING

Please visit http://wanderlust.com/shipping and complete the online form to arrange any shipments to the festival.

Thank you for taking the time to read through. If you have any questions or there is anything we can do to make this an outstanding experience, do not hesitate to ask.

TRUE NORTH CAFE PRESENTING OPPORTUNITY

On Friday nights at US summer events we are creating a fun, intimate open mic space at Wanderlust’s True North Cafe. We’d love for speakers to have the chance to connect with attendees in a casual, playful environment, and showcase (potentially unseen) skills and talents. If you’re interested in performing, we can even have our house musician accompany you live. Email your thoughts and ideas to openmic@wanderlust.com
