Born in the US but raised in Mexico, Flor de María was fortunate enough to discover a passion for exploration, science and the outdoors at an early age. A Biochemical Engineer specialized in Aquatic Resources, her professional career has always revolved around sport and research in extreme environments. With over 25 years experience teaching science, survival skills, SCUBA and mountaineering, nature has nurtured a journey of self-discovery and inner work that inspired her to design new didactic techniques for youngsters, adolescents and adults: a program aptly named TOOLBOX-Skills for Life. She is also the co-owner of Volare Xtreme, an extreme sports academy which promotes sport, leadership skills, environmental education and self-awareness. Her passions include cooking, filming, trekking, SCUBA, reading and meditation.
