“We need to feel the sensation of the breath inside the breath, recognize the mover behind the movement.” Shiva Rea

In this moving speakeasy from Wanderlust Whistler, Shiva Rea, yogini firekeeper, sacred activist, and leading innovator in the evolution of vinyasa flow yoga, shares her journey as a teacher of vinyasa and its connection to our shared global body of history. Through pictures, personal stories, reflection and questions for the current yoga world, Shiva shares her shift from academia into the frontlines of body culture of American yoga and breaking down barriers for expressing the fluidity of yoga, the sacred belly, the dance of the breath, and feminine power to create a more holistic space for men and women of all backgrounds as we evolve from the roots of yoga into an evolutionary embodiment.

Drawn to yoga at a young age, she began teaching and spreading the blessings of vinyasa over twenty years ago. Today she leads retreats and pilgrimages worldwide and has served as a creative catalyst to bring community together including Yoga Energy Activism Project, Yoga Trance Dance for Life, Moving Activism for 1,008,000 Trees, Yogini Conferences, and the worldwide Global Mala Project.
