Mantra When Life Gets Tough

I am exactly where I’m supposed to be right now.

I usually look to mantras when I’m feeling like I’m needing more. ‘More’ means lots of things depending on the situation: more support, more encouragement, more education, more experience, more reassurance, more confidence, more patience…the list is an endless rabbit hole of sentiments that express the same worry that we aren’t able to handle what’s thrown at us in life. The fact of the matter is, in any given moment, we’ve got what we’ve got and that’s it.

I look back in hindsight at those moments of desperation; when I truly felt I was grasping for answers I had not yet found. I realize today that I was simply looking in the wrong places for the guidance which I was seeking. As yogis, we gather information from our surroundings, our teachers, our experiences and sit with discernment until we find a path that creates action that meets our moral and logical standards. We can rest easy that we are fully capable of meeting our challenges in life if we make it a habit of increasing our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Because, as far as I can tell, we really are exactly where we’re supposed to be.
