Watch this video on\u00a0three hacky ways to use a strap in restorative yoga poses, and read below for step-by-step instructions.<\/p>\n<h3>Strap Hack: Yin-Style Forward Fold<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>Benefits:<\/strong>\u00a0Releases low back, stretches IT band, opens hips<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9522\" src=\"http:\/\/wanderlust.com\/files\/media\/brett-yogahack3.png\" alt=\"brett-yogahack3\" width=\"660\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 1:<\/span> <\/strong>Make a small loop in the strap (6-8\u00a0inches).<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 2:<\/span> <\/strong>Place the loop around your toes and tighten, taking your legs into an interior rotation (toes point in).<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 3:<\/span> <\/strong>Fold forward with the chin deeply pressed into the chest, releasing completely (Yin-style). Let your shoulders expand left to right. Soften and relax. Stay here 7\u00a0minutes or more.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>\u00a0Strap Hack:\u00a0Bound Legs Up the Wall<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>Benefits:<\/strong>\u00a0Releases low back,\u00a0makes legs up the wall even more relaxing!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9523\" src=\"http:\/\/wanderlust.com\/files\/media\/brett-yogahack4.png\" alt=\"brett-yogahack4\" width=\"660\" height=\"370\" \/><\/center><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\nStep 1:<\/span> <\/strong>Make a\u00a0loop in the strap and place it around your thighs, just above the knee.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 2:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Scootch in as close to the wall as possible so your side body is pressed against the wall. From there, lie down and slide your legs up the wall, keeping your seat as close to the wall as you can.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 3:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>Relax as the strap keeps your legs from splaying out left-to-right. Tighten the strap slightly if needed.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>\u00a0Strap Hack:\u00a0Goddess Pose<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>Benefits:<\/strong>\u00a0Lengthens low back, enables legs and feet to more fully relax<\/em><\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9524\" src=\"http:\/\/wanderlust.com\/files\/media\/brett-yogahack5.png\" alt=\"brett-yogahack5\" width=\"660\" height=\"371\" \/><\/center><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\nStep 1:<\/span><\/strong> Make a large, loose loop in the strap.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 2:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0As you sit back into Goddess Pose, take the loop behind your low back, but above your knees. Take the opposite site of the loop below your feet.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 3:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Tighten the strap until the loop is tractioning your low back slightly forward.
