Don\u2019t hesitate to check out Wanderlust blogger Andrea Manitsas\u2019 awesome tips on talking to strangers in her piece: <a href=\"http:\/\/wanderlust.com\/journal\/8-ways-to-connect-at-wanderlust\/\" target=\"_blank\">8 Ways to Connect at a Wanderlust Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000; text-align: center;\">\u2022 \u2022 \u2022<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"color: #000000;\">Wanderlust Wanderer: Mountain Momma Bethany<\/h2>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4392\" src=\"http:\/\/live-wanderlust-fest.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/pink-198x300.jpg\" alt=\"pink\" width=\"198\" height=\"300\" \/>Hails from:<\/strong> Minneapolis, MN<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Arrived via:<\/strong> Foot (yup)<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Yes, you read that right, Bethany, who is currently going by her \u201ctrail name\u201d Mountain Momma, came to Wanderlust on foot. She may be the only Wanderlust participant to ever hike into the festival. \u00a0Since April 15, 2014, this Mountain Momma and her one-of-a-kind custom backpack named \u201cPink\u201d have been hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (or the PCT for short), which stretches 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">I met Bethany when she decided to join the Bollywood Dance class on a whim, originally scheduled to head to another class. \u00a0Her energy was infectious. \u201cEveryday I\u2019m SO happy! \u00a0I just love being outside!\u201d she exclaimed to me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Before embarking on the trail, Bethany had an inkling that she\u2019d love to participate in Wanderlust Squaw, but unsure of whether or not she\u2019d get here in time, she decided not to get her hopes up. \u00a0The stars aligned and she found herself hiking through the Desolation Wilderness at exactly the right time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">At home, Bethany is a certified yoga instructor and she\u2019s been known on the trail to hold impromptu yoga classes for her trail mates. \u00a0Bethany is excited to participate in a yoga inversion class while here at Wanderlust because her body has changed while hiking on the trail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cI didn\u2019t think that walking and hiking would help my yoga: my flexibility, my strength, my endurance is all at peak performance. \u00a0I\u2019m the fittest I\u2019ve ever been in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Bethany plans to leave Wanderlust and hike 25-30 mile days with 7 days off in order to finish the PCT by mid September. She is an adventurer and athlete claiming the following to her sports resume: runner, swimmer, cyclist, snowboarder, and sometimes climber. Lauren is a music lover, prolific reader of literature, and the only bottle of wine she doesn\u2019t like has the word Merlot on it. Lauren is also a firm believer that guacamole is an all the time food and when she\u2019s not doing athletics, you\u2019ll probably find her on the dance
