Here are 30 tips to try to brighten any day of the week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wake Up Fresh.<\/strong> Resist\u00a0the urge to\u00a0touch your cell phone.\u00a0Instead, stretch and wiggle around in bed. Smile up to the heavens and thank the universe for another\u00a0beautiful day. Set an intention for your day before getting up slowly and starting your morning madness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Music Soothes the Soul.<\/strong> Music is magic. Explore and discover new bands and genres\u2014and bring back your all-time favorite old school jams. While in your car, at work, and lounging\u00a0around the house, steer clear of radio junk and put on a good playlist, take a deep breath, and\u00a0reconnect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pack Snacks.<\/strong>\u00a0If you&#8217;re like me, snacks\u00a0can be\u00a0key to a happy and productive day. In the midst of\u00a0my morning ritual I take time to pack a few small snacks \u2013 like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sunsweetdnoir.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">dried fruit<\/a> \u2014 for the day ahead. I carry a re\ufb01llable water\u00a0bottle to stay hydrated as well. I&#8217;ve discovered I end up saving lots of money and avoid that dreaded\u00a0&#8222;hangry&#8221; feeling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start a Ritual.<\/strong> Sit down and design a morning or evening ritual that you perform each day. It doesn&#8217;t have to be grand or elaborate, just a short\u00a0series of life celebrations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Switch Up Your Look.<\/strong> Every now and then change your usual perfume or lotion, style your hair\u00a0di\ufb00erently, or wear something in your closet that you&#8217;ve been holding o\ufb00 on. Spontaneity helps us stay emotionally fresh.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Play Outside.<\/strong> Have you lost your connection to nature? Step outside and notice the smell of the\u00a0weather, stare into the clouds, and lay in the grass. Share the shade of a tree with a friend and have a\u00a0picnic, star gaze with a lover, or take an evening walk. Resuscitate your connection with Mother Earth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Give More.<\/strong> No matter what your routine is, always give more than you receive or expect to receive.\u00a0Be kind and generous.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Declutter.<\/strong> Cleanse, rearrange, get rid of, and simplify. This applies to the mind, body, spirit, and your\u00a0environment. Tidy up your bedroom and work space. Take deep breaths often to reset the body and\u00a0brain. Streamline your thought process: Think less, do more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brighten Your Palette.<\/strong> We are what we eat\u2014eat bright and live bright. Consume foods that are\u00a0bright and natural in color. Luminous yellow bananas, bell peppers, and squash; juicy red\u00a0watermelon, apples, and yummy peaches; earthy green kale, kiwi, and avocados &#8230; Are you hungry yet? Try adding luscious\u00a0purple snacks like eggplant, beets, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sunsweet.com\/products\/dnoir-prunes\/\" target=\"_blank\">prunes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make a Bucket List.<\/strong> Life is short. When we stop to think about it, there are important things on\u00a0&#8222;our list&#8221; that we want to accomplish before we die. Compose a long list of what you desire to do\u00a0most in this lifetime. Want to keep it short and sweet? Send a\u00a0postcard instead. Help bring snail mail back to life! Everyone appreciates a little reminder that you&#8217;ve been thinking of her.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stop, Drop and Yoga.<\/strong> It&#8217;s as easy as that&#8230; Stop. Drop. And do yoga. It&#8217;s exhilarating, and often the\u00a0perfect break from daily routines that we&#8217;ve been craving.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laugh More.<\/strong> Learn to laugh at yourself. Life doesn&#8217;t have to be so serious. Tell stupid jokes and listen\u00a0to comedy on your way to work. Smile at strangers, have tickle \ufb01ghts with kids, and remember what\u00a0it&#8217;s like to giggle, snort, and drool because you&#8217;re laughing so hard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Turn O<span class=\"s1\">\ufb00<\/span> Your Text and Email Noti\ufb01cations.<\/strong> Whoa! This one is fun, right? Let go of your need to be\u00a0in control every moment of every day and just exist. Having less distractions means being able to\u00a0focus more on the\u00a0important things, like the people around you. Don&#8217;t miss out on real feelings\u00a0while buried in\u00a0electronics deciding which emoji best represents how you feel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Snuggle Your Pet.<\/strong> Add in a few minutes of cuddle time everyday. Give your pet some extra love and\u00a0absorb their love in return. If you don&#8217;t have a pet, love on a friend&#8217;s pet or give more people hugs!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Make Your Bed.<\/strong>\u00a0A good friend asked me if I made\u00a0my bed every morning. My response was, &#8222;No,\u00a0why would I do that? Nobody sees it but me!&#8221; He told me that I should wake up every morning and\u00a0make my bed, that it would make me feel better and help get my day started. I didn&#8217;t believe him\u00a0until I tried it. There&#8217;s something subtle and comforting about leaving and coming home to a made-up\u00a0bed. It&#8217;s a small but powerful adjustment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Sleep with the Windows Open.<\/strong> Just to switch things up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Dance.<\/strong> Dancing in public may make you nervous\u2014but nerves are good. They mean you&#8217;re feeling. Get\u00a0out of your comfort zone and dance! Dance in the o<span class=\"s1\">\ufb03<\/span>ce, on your way to your kitchen, while out on the\u00a0town, and when you go to a concert.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Play Hooky.<\/strong> If you&#8217;re always on time and never take sick days, play hooky once in a while. Go see a\u00a0movie in the middle of the day or eat ice cream and watch your favorite Net\ufb02ix series. We all need a\u00a0little break now and then.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Write Things Down.<\/strong> Instead of spending your day typing, texting, and adding to your digital calendar,\u00a0pick up one of those things we used to call &#8222;pencils&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/blog\/open-gently\/201504\/why-writing-hand-could-change-your-life\" target=\"_blank\">and write<\/a>. Jot down your to-do\u00a0list, write a love note, or take notes by hand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Reinvent Yourself.<\/strong> Start peeling away layers from the inside out. Meditate deeply and discover your\u00a0true passions in life. Then, go for them. Switch your path and reinvent yourself. We can always\u00a0become better versions of ourselves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Change Your Commute.<\/strong> Carpool with friends, take the bus, ride a bike, or walk!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Pick a Flower.<\/strong> Flowers are symbols of happiness. Go buy a bouquet or snip a \ufb02ower in your garden.\u00a0If you&#8217;re feeling extra happy, gift it to a friend and brighten her day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Rearrange Your Digs.<\/strong> Move your furniture around, switch up the placement of some knick-knacks, or\u00a0reposition your o<span class=\"s1\">\ufb03<\/span>ce set up. Keep the feel and vibes of your surroundings fresh and spunky.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Go Local.<\/strong> Instead of going to the usual super market or convenience store try out a local farmer&#8217;s\u00a0market. Start a habit of purchasing fresh and local produce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Walk Barefoot.<\/strong> Lose the shoes and get earthy. It&#8217;s freedom time for the feet!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Bake Cookies Just for Hell of It.<\/strong> Look up a <span class=\"s2\">new recipe, <\/span>turn on some loud music, and bake to your\u00a0hearts content! Eat a few and then share with your kids, friends, neighbors, or co-workers.
