You may not be surrounded by mountains filled with snow, but winter nonetheless has something whimsical\u00a0to offer no matter where you are. Cold weather brings people together, we yearn for warmth, love, and connection. The holidays deliver big\u00a0family meals, endless gratitude, and it just seems like time moves a little bit slower than usual.<\/p>\n<p>When the first winter breeze blows through the trees you can feel the magic in the air. People seem to be a bit nicer and nobody can complain about a little vacation time! This winter season, I challenge you to be open and accepting to new beginnings, learn to love more, and allow time to slow down so you can appreciate each and every moment.<\/p>\n<p>1) With the change of season comes new beginnings<br \/>\n2) Cold weather<br \/>\n3) Layering all of your favorite clothes into one outfit<br \/>\n4) Hot cocoa, hot cider, and peppermint-spiced lattes<br \/>\n5) Snuggling up to someone you love<br \/>\n6) Celebrating the holidays<br \/>\n7) Presents!! (And Presence!!)<br \/>\n8) Cooking big meals with family<br \/>\n9) The smell of bonfires<br \/>\n10) Christmas lights<br \/>\n11) S&#8217;mores and Irish Coffee<br \/>\n12) Warm socks<br \/>\n13) Days off!!<br \/>\n14) New Year&#8217;s is just around the corner<br \/>\n15)\u00a0Curling up with a book<br \/>\n16) Ugly Christmas Sweaters<br \/>\n17) Holiday Parties<br \/>\n18) Giving back<br \/>\n19) Being grateful for what you have<br \/>\n20) Sweaters, scarves, and mittens<br \/>\n21) Ski and snowboard trips<br \/>\n22) Christmas carols<br \/>\n23) Ice skating<br \/>\n24) Building snowmen and having snowball fights<br \/>\n25) Catching snowflakes on your tongue<br \/>\n26) New Year&#8217;s resolutions<br \/>\n27) Traveling<br \/>\n28) Visiting family and friends<br \/>\n29) Making phone calls you should&#8217;ve made a long time ago<br \/>\n30) Holding hands with your lover<br \/>\n31) Long hugs to keep warm<br \/>\n32) Heated blankets<br \/>\n33) Mistletoe<br \/>\n34) New Year&#8217;s kisses<br \/>\n35) Popcorn garland<br \/>\n36) The pace of life slowing down<br \/>\n37) Arts and crafts<br \/>\n38) Stockings, letters to Santa, and Christmas morning<br \/>\n39) Candy canes<br \/>\n40) Gingerbread houses<br \/>\n41) School being cancelled because of snow<br \/>\n42) Sweat pants!!<br \/>\n43) Finding a special someone<br \/>\n44) Snow angels<br \/>\n45)\u00a0Doggies in sweaters<br \/>\n46) The smell of fresh winter air<br \/>\n47) Open windows<br \/>\n48) Comfort food<br \/>\n49) No mosquitoes!!<br \/>\n50) Carbohydrates are back in season<\/p>\n<p>Happy Winter!<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2274 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/live-wanderlust-fest.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/zuzu.jpg\" alt=\"zuzu\" width=\"200\" height=\"261\" \/>Zuzu Perkal is an independent artist, photographer, yoga instructor, and adventure enthusiast in Austin, Texas.
