Meditation teacher and award-winning author Lodro Rinzler<\/a> spoke at Wanderlust Aspen-Snowmass<\/a> on how we can apply our meditation practice not only to our own lives, but to our relationships with our friends, families, and society as a whole.<\/p>\n

Through the practice of meditation, the Buddha was able to see through<\/a> his own confusion\u2014obtaining nirvana\u2014and thus see through society\u2019s confusion. If we were able to do that with our own meditation practice, we’d have a dramatic impact on society: just by being more mindful.<\/p>\n

By creating conversations<\/a> of kindness, mindfulness, and compassion within our societies\u2014small and large\u2014we begin to create shifts in the way the world, and society as a whole, communicates. Lodro explains how our practices and actions can (and should) be interconnected:<\/p>\n

“The idea of The Buddha Walks Into a Bar<\/em> is that we don\u2019t have to separate out our religious beliefs, our spirituality, our meditation practice over here, and our going out with our friends on a Friday night, our work life, and our family over there; we should actually be able to bring the two together.”<\/p>\n
