All four of these men engage in all of the above. In this Speakeasy from Wanderlust O&#8217;ahu, these four men share their journeys (with both hilarity and sincerity) toward becoming ambassadors for modern mindfulness.<\/p>\n<p>Learn how:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tom Whiteside of Movember.org discovered &#8220;Yoga for Cancer Survivors&#8221; at his local YMCA and how it helped his recovery from Hodgkin&#8217;s Lymphoma;<\/li>\n<li>Kirk Hensler used yoga (and a raucous sense of humor) to get in touch with his feelings after diagnoses of OCD, anxiety, and depression;<\/li>\n<li>Dan Wells came to a turning point in his life when his father passed, which inspired him to trust that something larger than himself was at work, and stop taking himself too seriously;<\/li>\n<li>Keith Mitchell found himself flat on his back, paralyzed on the football field, and how yoga and meditation was key in his full recovery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bonus points if you can match these quotes to their owners:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s never too late to interpret the things that happen to you in a positive light.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of the downsides of yoga is that I found out you can&#8217;t swear in a lot of yoga studios, and that was one of the main reasons I opened my own.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m an advocate for yoga and meditation and I&#8217;m teaching it all over the world to whomever&#8217;s going to listen, and even to people who aren&#8217;t listening.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I got my Dad to go to yoga because I told him it would help his golf game. So, basically, the best way to get men to come to yoga is to trick them.
