\u201cI know it\u2019s all broken \/ I ain\u2019t got to focus \/ I can\u2019t tell what\u2019s right or wrong,<\/em>\u201d sings Paul Janeway, frontman of the Alabama soul band St. Paul and the Broken Bones. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a sentiment I really relate to\u2014I think we can all relate to,\u201d says Andrew, the drummer of the seven-part band. Andrew is at his hotel in St. Petersburg Florida when I call. It\u2019s mid afternoon, the night after a major show in Orlando, and the band is set to play again that night. They’ve\u00a0been touring their most recent album, <\/span>Sea of Noise<\/span><\/i>, since September, \u201cwithout breaks, and with a lot of help from visits to the chiropractor,\u201d Andrew jokes. <\/span><\/p>\n

Afternoons on tour are for relaxation and alone time, though \u201csometimes you\u2019ll run into one of the guys at the coffee shop–it\u2019s sort of inevitable,\u201d he laughs. It\u2019s important to take this time for reflection when touring with the same crew for so long, but Andrew reports that there is a great energy among the group. \u201cEveryone\u2019s so different, and each of us brings something different to the table,\u201d he says.<\/span><\/p>\n
