Given this, it\u2019s a little strange that <a href=\"http:\/\/wanderlust.com\/journal\/3-ways-practice-mindfulness\/\" target=\"_blank\">mindfulness<\/a>\u2014paying attention to whatever you\u2019re thinking, feeling, or sensing in a given movement\u2014isn\u2019t universally seen as more than just <a href=\"http:\/\/wanderlust.com\/journal\/14-ways-start-maintain-meditation-practice\/\" target=\"_blank\">meditation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, a Harvard Medical School <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3004979\/\" target=\"_blank\">study reported that mindfulness<\/a> increases the activity on areas of the brain linked to learning, memory, emotion regulation, and empathy. This direct relationship to empathy means that you are more likely to help someone in need and understand the suffering of others when you are practicing mindfulness. Imagine what society could be if mindfulness became more of a priority.<\/p>\n<h3>How do you find connections between mindfulness and gratitude?
