Wanderlust 108 Brooklyn Recap

Brooklyn, you are beautiful.

Brooklyn, you never cease to amaze. What an incredible tapestry of energy we wove together in Prospect Park on Sunday. A passerby commented to me, “This is what the world needs right now. We need to be coming together with strangers. Like this. This is how we build trust with our community again, this is how we bridge the divide. You should do this every weekend.”

While our weary crew might have objections to it happening every weekend, we have to admit that this was healing balm after almost two years without large gatherings. Like clockwork, the secret sauce of connecting in community seeped into the container we call Wanderlust, and hearts were opened, minds expanded, and hugs made a comeback like nobody’s business. Whether you were there in person or online, thanks for joining in.

Chelsea Jackson Robertsseane corn brooklyn 108  held the space (and stage) beautifully for us all.  Taryn Toomey, founder of The Class, provided a gorgeous heart-centered cathartic practice that was a spot-on holistic workout—and work IN—for our community (playlist here).

Seane Corn did what she does best, providing broader context for WHY we practice. “Yoga isn’t about the stretch… it’s about the reach.” With DJ Taz Rashid’s soundbed, it made for a powerful practice indeed (playlist here).

Rev angel Kyodo williams shared a meditation that was a pitch perfect guide back to self—back to belonging. « You deserve to remember who you are. »

Rev. angel was accompanied by Wanderlust OG Garth Stevenson, who teamed up by surprise guest, Sonya Kitchell, for an ethereal « What a Wonderful World » that provided the perfect bow on the practice trifecta. The entire arc of the experience was profound. We hope you agree.

We’re deeply grateful to our partners who made the event possible, including Sweaty BettyNirvana Water Sciences, and Volvo, who you’ll hear from below, along with a handful of partners who help make the magic happen at our events. We’re grateful to them, and we’re grateful to YOU for coming out and making it magical. We love you, Brooklyn.
