Mary Gargett

Mary Gargett is a vibrant multidisciplinary circus performer hailing from Bellingham, WA. Her specialties are hula-hoop, stilt walking and aerial hoop, along with a strong skill set in hand balancing, partner acrobatics, stilt acrobatics, dance and general theatre antics.

She has performed with a variety of companies including March Fourth Marching Band, Quixotic Fusion, Animate Objects Physical Theatre, Shanghai Productions and SANCA’s professional performance collective. She’s performed at festivals such as Jam Cruise, Wakarusa, Symbiosis, Electric Forest, Wanderlust, All Good, Burning Man, High Sierra, Shangri La, Oregon Country Fair, Moisture Festival and Floyd Fest. Her performance travels have taken her to just about every state in the US, China, Jamaica and Grand Turk. In 2015 she completed SANCA (School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts) professional Preparatory Program where she specialized in aerial hoop and hula-hoop. She has taught hula-hoop at Wanderlust Festival 108, Hoop Camp in Santa Cruz and Spin Summit in Colorado as well as co-directed the 2015 and 2016 Electric Forest Hula Hoop Troupe.

She currently trains and is based out of Seattle, WA. When she’s not training, you can find her performing all over the northwest and the country as well as coaching a variety of circus disciplines at SANCA. She has explored many forms of movement since the age of 4 from dance, acrobatics, cheerleading, circus arts and more! She incorporates all the elements of performance, dance and theater she’s learned over the years into her captivating presence and character she becomes on stage. Mary is excited to share this juicy knowledge and experience to her students. She loves the beauty and passion of performance art, the endless possibilities and all that we can learn from one another.
