2020 Custom Build Permitting

TENTS 

Although any structure may need permitting, builds or tents 400 square feet or larger will require permits in most markets.

Tent permit deadlines range from 30-60 days prior to event.

CUSTOM BUILDS

Stages, platforms, and custom build activations may require structural permits with backup documentation. These documents include engineer stamped drawings and calculations confirming the ability to withstand high winds, weight/ballast requirements. It may be required to provide occupancy, floor layout with emergency exits clearly marked. If the build contains any fabric or canvas, proof of flame retardancy will be required. The designer or manufacturer should be able to provide you with copies. Structural permit deadlines range from 2 weeks to 30 days prior to event.  

*PLEASE NOTE* If backup documents cannot be obtained from the manufacturer, plan at least 3 additional weeks of lead time to procure them from an engineering firm. Failure to adhere to this deadline can result in increased or doubled engineering fees.
