David Bez

About

David Bez is not a chef. He is a food lover with limited time; an Italian who cares about what’s on his plate; a designer who knows that you eat with your eyes first. Originally from Milan, he moved to London to work in the advertising and the graphic design industry. Driven by a desire for healthier lunches, he started making a different salad each day at his desk. His salads got so much interest, he eventually set up his blog, SaladPride, which is now followed by salad fans all over the world and has been publicised in the Daily Mail, The Daily Telegraph, Emerald Street, The Huffington Post and The Times. His first book, SALAD LOVE, has been translated into 26 languages around the world. His second book, BREAKFAST LOVE, was published in February 2016.
Recently David gave up his 15-year career in graphic design and opened his Neal’s Yard vegan café – SaladPride café – which reflects his philosophy of natural, simple and good-looking food. He also now runs workshops and events, including “salad styling” and “lacto-fermentation for beginners” – alongside a multi-sensory supper-club, “The Secret Taste of Bliss”.
Currently David has open the Plant Hub together with Lauren Lovatt and Antonio Alderuccio. The Plant Hub Is a dynamic new plant based Restaurant and Culinary Academy of East London! The Aim is To Inspire a passion for plants – through building a community where we can all learn from the most inspiring chefs and foodies to empower the nation with the knowledge to make and enjoy more plant based food.
