Dariadaria

About

Madeleine Daria Alizadeh grew up in Vienna, Austria. As the daughter of an Austrian mother and Iranian father, she soon became interested in different cultures, social backgrounds and what connects people. With a strong creative side, in 2007 she started uploading pictures and texts of her many travels online, to share with family and friends. She then started her blog, dariadaria, as her personal diary in 2010. Many years later she is considered one of the most influential bloggers in the german speaking area, talking about sustainability, travels, conscious lifestyle and a new perspective on life. She was given the „New Ladies Award“ in 2015 and held her first TED Talk in 2016.

Madeleine founded her blog “dariadaria in 2010, which soon after became one of the most-read blogs of the german-speaking area. In 2017, she decided close down her blog and to go into a new direction. Today she produces the podcast “a mindful mess”, writes a green lifestyle column for the magazine “Wienerin”, appears as a speaker at public events and sells her self-designed clothes under the name “dariadéh”. Topics that the Viennese with Persian roots addresses are for instance sustainability, minimalism, veganism, women’s rights or self-love. For her many social projects she has traveled to places like the Gaza Strip and Iraq. In Spring 2018 Alizadeh was invited to speak at the European Parliament. She also works as a Yoga teacher on the side and is on the Advisory Board of Earthbeat Foundation.
