Dan Nevins

About

Dan Nevins is a renowned inspirational speaker and Certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga teacher. He shares his story of service on and off of the battlefield, as well as the lessons he has learned in over a decade post injury as a combat wounded – bilateral amputee living with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). His story of overcoming adversity and of how yoga has profoundly changed his life continues to be his source of inspiration to lead fellow wounded warriors and veterans around the world to yoga, mindfulness and meditation, as a way to heal from the invisible wounds of war. Dan’s story and insights are inspiring warriors, leaders and people of all walks of life to create positive change for themselves and the world.

Dan is an advocate for Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), which is the organization he gives credit for the start of his successful rehabilitation, positive “anything is possible” attitude and more importantly, his passion for helping fellow wounded warriors in any way that he can. Dan is a highly decorated soldier, yet his most coveted award is the George C. Lang Award for Courage, which is the highest honor bestowed by WWP.

Dan is a resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and has held leadership roles at the PGA TOUR and across the non-profit sector. He recently founded his own non-profit organization, Warrior Spirit Retreat, which is dedicated to healing the effects of Combat Stress, using a curriculum based on yoga, mindfulness and mediation which is grounded in mindful based recreation activities like golf, fishing and horsemanship.

Outside of his professional life, Dan is a committed father to three amazing daughters and grandfather to another precious girl. When he isn’t on the road, on his mat or with his girls, you can usually find him on the golf course, showing cutting horses, or reading.
Dan is passionate about the life changing power of yoga and as an expression of that passion, he leads practice, trainings, workshops and masterclasses around the globe. Dan is a graduate of the Baptiste Institute’s FIT to LEAD training, among numerous other yoga and professional trainings and is a Yoga Alliance ERYT-200 Certified Yoga Instructor.
