Amanda Ackley, Master Instructor and Owner of The Bar Method San Francisco – Downtown, has been part of The Bar Method Community since 2012. The mission of the Bar Method, which was originally founded and created by Burr Leonard in 2001, is to empower women to be the best version of themselves by creating highly efficient, full-body workouts that build inner and outer strength, grace, and poise. After spending over 10+ years in the Financial Wealth Management corporate world, Amanda quickly and easily realized she was much more passionate about supporting women to achieve their fitness goals. In 2017, she left the corporate world and dove straight in to owning The Bar Method San Francisco – Downtown studio.
The Bar Method San Francisco – Downtown is conveniently located in the Financial District and has just recently celebrated its 11th anniversary. The Bar Method itself has been around for 18 years with over 100 locations throughout the US and Canada. Our clients, instructors, and owners are what make The Bar Method such a strong and powerful community. They range in age, background, and body type but are connected in mindset; all are motivated, hard-working, passionate about wellness, and strive to live a fulfilled life. Our remarkable group of predominantly female studio owners have incredible drive, talent, leadership, and passion for the brand. They inspire one another across the company and within their local communities every day. Our mantra is together we are stronger!
The Bar Method exercise targets all major muscle groups, alternating between the front and the back of the body. The unique exercises keep students working long and intensely enough to transform and sculpt the muscles. The Bar Method technique stands apart because it is safe, smart and personal. It was created under the guidance of physical therapists to ensure it is safe and effective for students spanning a wide range of abilities including those with physical limitations and injuries.
After every class Amanda took at The Bar Method, she found herself being challenged both mentally and physically. Even though the safe and effective workout plays a huge role in her enthusiasm for The Bar Method, what she loves the most is the inspiring, warm, and supportive community. When she is not at the studio you can find her seeking any outdoor adventure with her husband, most expectedly skiing in Tahoe.
